
Course Details
This course is ideal for operatives who are working in the construction industry as a bricklayer, either experienced or just starting out in the industry. It allows learners to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in bricklaying or craft masonry.
The bricklaying pathway covers areas such as working on a construction site, setting out basic structures, building brick and block walling, laying domestic drainage, placing and finishing concrete and render surfaces. The craft masonry pathway covers areas such as working to given specifications, setting out and erecting masonry structures, placing and finishing concrete and render surfaces.
The qualification will provide learners with an opportunity to: Develop their knowledge, skills and qualities required for continued employment as a Bricklayer.

Who is the course for?
This course is ideal for operatives who are working in the construction industry, either experienced or just starting out in the industry.
How you will be assessed?
The qualification is delivered on-site by one of our specialist NVQ Assessors. The assessment is being made via the portfolio of evidence. A high level of support will also be provided to help you complete the NVQ requirements.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, potential candidates must be able to demonstrate to us they can meet the requirements of the qualification before enrolment.
Progression Routes
Achievement of this qualification confirms the learner has gained the knowledge and skills required to :
- Work in Trowel Occupations.
- Progress onto a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision
In addition, successful achievement of the qualification will allow the individual to apply for a Blue CSCS card.
